Nashville roots rocker Will Hoge is back with Sweet Misery, his 15th studio album, released August 22, 2025 on Edlo Records. After the more introspective, solo-recorded Tenderhearted Boys, Hoge set out to make a louder, hookier rock and roll band record — good stories, big choruses, and something to play loud with the windows down. Tinnitist
To bring that vision to life, Hoge enlisted a crew of collaborators he trusted to help expand the bigger ideas in the songs Tinnitist, resulting in a 10-track, 33-minute record that marks a deliberate and energetic change of direction.
Critics have taken notice. Reviewers noted that the best tracks push into full-on power-pop territory — drawing comparisons to Matthew Sweet and Fountains of Wayne — and that it works phenomenally well for Hoge’s frustrated and world-weary point of view, with some calling it his best album to date. Hoge has kept the momentum going into 2026, releasing the politically charged single “The Epstein Files” in February Wikipedia, signaling that his creative streak shows no signs of slowing down.
Sweet Misery is available now on all major streaming platforms and on vinyl via Hoge’s website at willhoge.com.
